Representatives of the Seymour Art Gallery hosted an opening reception for their latest show, Odd Occurrences, Sept. 11. The exhibition was guest curated by Rachel Rosenfield Lafo.

Through various mediums, the featured artists build on centuries-old traditions of oral and visual storytelling creating images ranging from wildly imaginative to oddly funny.

Among the works on display are Kristin Bjornerud's watercolours, Tamara Bond's mixed media works on canvas and paper, Tomoyo Ihaya's mixed media images and Carrie Walker's animal images added to found drawings. A curator's conversation with Bjornerud, Bond and Walker will be held Sunday, Sept. 23 at 2 p.m.
