Members of the Friendship Toastmasters Club gathered at the Capilano Rugby Club June 25 for a special event to mark the organization's 35th anniversary.

Focused on personal development, the North Vancouver-based club strives to improve participants' oral communication and enhance their self-confidence.

Guests at the event enjoyed listening to remarks by past-president Michael Clucas and current president Tim Green, as well as Carol Carter, who will present her award-winning speech at an upcoming competition in Florida.

In addition to members of the local club, an invitation was also extended to those involved in four other North Vancouver chapters of Toastmasters.
