Representatives of North Shore Volunteers for Seniors hosted a picnic Aug. 29 in John Lawson Park to mark West Vancouver's centennial.

Those in attendance enjoyed a grand cake as well as a barbecue, manned by West Vancouver firefighters (on behalf of their charitable foundation) at the event, made possible by the West Vancouver Community Foundation.
